The chickens.

I thought it was high time that I let you know how the chickens are doing.

They have been laying well all summer, but then again, that's their bloody job, so they should have anyway.

My cockerel, Chuck Norris, has proved he has got lead in his pencil so to speak and we got 5 chicks at the first attempt. Good cock...ahem.

Sadly, 5 and 9 makes 14, and 14 is too many for my small run. So, it was with a heavy heart and a very sharp kitchen knife that I cut the ties to 7 of the chucks (including my boy, Chuck Norris).

They have now gone to live next door.

I am going shopping in the next few days to stock up the greenhouse with tomato plants and strawberry plants. I also fancy having another go at cucumbers.
